Xbox One Store Adding Game Gifting

From PC Mag: Buy any games console today or invest in a gaming PC and you'll gain access to one or more digital games stores. But the feature set of each store can differ drastically. Visit Steam and you have the option to buy games for yourself or gift them to others. Visit the Xbox One store and there's no such gifting feature. But that's about to change.

Mike Ybarra, corporate vice president of Xbox & Windows gaming platforms at Microsoft, confirmed in a tweet that game gifting is "Not far!" off being rolled out to Xbox One owners.

Until now, the best way to gift something Xbox-related to a friend or family members was to buy game credit. This can be done online or purchased as a gift card at many retail outlets. $25, $50, and even $100 Xbox gift cards are easy to find.

With game gifting, it removes some of the hassle if the person you're buying for wants a specific game. You won't have to find out how much the game is first in order to buy enough credit, you can simply buy the game. That also means no left over credit if, for example, a game costs a few cents or dollars less than the card value.
