Sony Announces Call of Duty and Monster Hunter Themed PS4s

From PC Mag: The Tokyo Game Show kicks off in a couple of days, but Sony decided to hold its PlayStation press conference a couple of days before. As well as a number of game announcements and release date confirmations, Sony also revealed two new themed PS4 consoles.

As Kotaku reports, the first is a Call of Duty: World War II themed PS4, which will be released on November 3 in Japan alongside the game. The PS4 casing has a camouflage design and the DualShock 4 is a military green. There's a 1TB hard drive inside and a copy of the game included. It will cost 39,980 yen ($360).

The second themed console is a PS4 Pro carrying a Monster Hunter World theme. It's called the PlayStation 4 Pro Monster Hunter World: Liolaeuse Edition. Liolaeuse refers to the flying wyvern (Rathalos) image present on the PS4 Pro casing. The DualShock 4 is red with Monster Hunter detail present on the grips. It will cost 49,980 yen ($450) and launches on December 7 without the game (for good reason).

The December 7 launch is unusual because the Monster Hunter World game won't launch until January 26. Releasing more than a month before the game demonstrates just how popular the Monster Hunter IP is in Japan, and this themed console will no doubt sell out.
