HP Unveils Slew of New, Updated Notebooks and Desktops

From DailyTech: HP has tossed a truckload of new computers onto the market for CES. The machines include offerings in the consumer desktop and notebook line as well as a few new machines for the enterprise and business users. Some of the machines get new HP CoolSense tech and Beats Audio for superior listening experience.

The Pavilion dm1 is one of the new notebooks and it measures in at under an inch thick. The machine has an 11.6-inch screen and offers full 1080p resolution viewing and the battery promises 10.75 hours of use per charge. It uses the new AMD Fusion APU inside.

Another of the new HP notebooks is the massive Envy 17. This machine has switchable graphics between integrated and the Radeon HD 6850m discrete graphics card. The rig is aimed at the multimedia fan and will be offered in 3D models in the future. The rig will have variety of Core i7 CPU options.

HP also pulled the wraps off new updates for the dv6 and dv7 notebooks with Beats Audio and new Intel CPUs and AMD graphics. Users of HP TouchSmart PCs will be getting a new software update for their machines that HP has unveiled. The update will bring multilayered wallpapers, a new carousel design, and the TouchSmart app center. The update will be offered free for the TouchSmart 300 and 600 machines. The only updates to the HP Mini 201 line are new colors with iceberry and raspberry colors.

New business rigs from HP include the Compaq 8200 Elite with new core vPro processors for up to 40 percent more performance. The 6200 Pro gets new Intel Core processors, and the 4000 Pro is a mainstream business PC in a SFF chassis.
