Apple Store goes down as WWDC keynote looms

From CNET News.com: As expected, Apple has taken its online store down to update the marketplace with all of the goodies it plans to show off today at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

When Web users head over to Apple's online store, they'll come to a page saying the marketplace will "be back." Apple says that it's "updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon." Although the message hasn't changed from previous notices, it's worth noting that the design of the page is different than its predecessors. When Apple previously took its store down, a yellow post-it note was usually displayed.

Apple typically takes its online store down hours before keynote addresses. Today's keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference is slated to kick off at 10 a.m. PT. Apple has said that iOS and OS X will be on the docket, but according to rumors, a new line of MacBooks might also be shown off during the event. Rumors are mixed over whether the iPhone 5 might make a showing.

As expected, CNET will be covering all of the news coming out of WWDC, so be sure to check back a bit later to follow all of the excitement.
