Patriot Memory Releases Wi-Fi-Equipped Enclosure for Hard Drives

From X-bit Labs: Patriot Memory, a leading supplier of memory and storage products, has introduced a new enclosure for external hard drives that supports Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n technology for easy access by numerous devices. The Gauntlet Node enclosure supports hard drives of up to 1TB (or higher when available) and can stream data to up to eight devices simultaneously.

Patriot's Gauntlet Node can be fitted with any 2.5” hard drive or solid state drive with Serial ATA interface and is hot swappable for no hassle use with multiple drives. The enclosure is equipped with USB 3.0 as well as Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n wireless network technology for connecrivity to different types of devices. Using Gauntlet Connect application for Apple iOS, Google Android and Amazon Kindle Fire, the Gauntlet Node is capable of sharing or streaming data or media to 8 connected devices. Powered by a lithium ion battery, the Gauntlet Node can stream movies, music, and photos or transfer data continuously for up to 5.5 hours.
