Newegg Opening First Pop-Up Store in California

From DailyTech: Newegg is opening up its first pop-up store in California this week in an effort to showroom a range of tech products.

Newegg announced that it will launch a three-day pop-up store in Thousand Oaks, California starting this Friday. It will allow customers to test the latest gadgets, such as laptops, PCs, tablets and hard drives.

Some of the products that will be featured at the pop-up store will be Sony VAIO laptops, 4th generation Intel Core i7 laptops, Intel-inspired Ultrabooks, digital cameras, tablets, wireless speakers, Samsung tablets and solid-state drives and Western Digital hard drives.

"Showrooming is a reality today, so this back-to-school season, we wanted to give our customers a chance to interact with some of our most popular products in person in a traditional in-store environment," said Soren Mills, chief marketing officer at Newegg. "Newegg has already built an outstanding reputation for being a trusted online retailer of computers and electronics. We're thrilled to open Newegg's first ever pop-up store and hope our customers enjoy this special opportunity."

Those who check out the pop-up store can take advantage of in-store deals and promotions. Also, the first 100 customers at the store will receive a free gift each of the three days. Purchases made during the store event will be delivered via free next-day shipping by OnTrac -- Newegg's regional shipping partner.

The pop-up store will be open August 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. PDT, and August 18 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. PDT at the Oaks shopping center.
