MSI Unveils 17-inch GS70 Gaming Laptop

From DailyTech: MSI has introduced a new thinner and lighter gaming laptop that was made to rival the Razer Blade Pro.

MSI has unveiled the new GS70, which is a light and portable gaming laptop entry following MSI's GE40. It sports a large, 17.3-inch screen with 1920x1080 resolution and just a 5.7 pound chassis.

Its specs under the hood include a Haswell-based Core i7 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M graphics, 16GB DDR3L, HDMI 1.4, four USB 3.0 ports, a 720p HD webcam, Killer E2200 game networking, Killer N1202 2x2(a/b/g/n) and a Click Pad.

The GS70 comes in two versions: one with a Super RAID 128GB mSATA SSD + 1TB HDD and another with 128GB mSATA SSD + 750GB HDD.

"The GS70 has the capability to crush the most demanding games and the featherlike portability for on-the-go multi-tasking or gaming," said Andy Tung, vice president of sales for MSI US. "We understand the needs of our audience and are committed to delivering solutions that exceed even the highest expectations."

MSI's latest gaming laptop is going head-to-head with the Razer Blade Pro, offering double the RAM and a lighter chassis than the competition.

For the 128GB SSD + 750GB HDD model, the starting price is $1,799.99. The 128GB mSATA SSD + 1TB HDD runs $1,999.99.
