BlackBerry Shows Off New, 5" Z30 Flagship Smartphone

From DailyTech: BlackBerry has finally announced specs and a release date for its new flagship BlackBerry 10 (BB10) device, the Z30 -- and it's hoping for better reception from customers than the Z10 and Q10 could muster.

BlackBerry's Z30 will be the new big boy on the company's block, becoming the new top-of-the-line flagship phone for BlackBerry -- a spot once held by the Z10, which launched earlier this year.

The Z30 sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED touch display, a 1.7 GHz processor and BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.

It also has the largest battery seen in a BlackBerry smartphone yet at 2880 mAh -- for 25 hours of mixed use -- allowing you to power extras like BlackBerry Priority Hub (manages all your conversations and notifications in one place) and BBM (messaging service specific to BlackBerry devices).

“The new BlackBerry Z30 smartphone builds on the solid foundation and engaging user experience of the BlackBerry 10 platform with features like the powerful BlackBerry Hub, its exceptional touchscreen keyboard and industry leading browser,” said Carlo Chiarello, Executive Vice President for Products at BlackBerry.

“The smartphone rounds out the BlackBerry 10 portfolio and is designed for people looking for a smartphone that excels at communications, messaging and productivity. Having apps like the full Documents To Go suite that comes preinstalled, together with its 5” touch display, the BlackBerry Z30 smartphone gives you a best in class productivity experience on the go.”
