Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth is a great cooler. Starting with the physical appearance, I found the stealthy black appearance to be quite satisfying. This purely black aesthetic will fit well in most cases. The build quality is quite good, being rigid and also appears it is built to last a long time. The base of the cooler is nickel plated and the black paint adds to protect the cooler against corrosion. This is a simple way to add a level of quality to the cooler. As someone who uses high profile RAM, I did not find any issues regarding clearance, but your mileage may vary. The performance testing revealed great idle results. When under load, the MasterAir MA824 Stealth was able to match the performance of the SilverStone VIDA 240 SLIM AIO water cooler with ease. With performance typically comes noise, but I found there to be an excellent balance as it outputs a minimal amount thanks to its immense size along with great Mobius series fans. The only issue was while the installation process was very linear, it was also hard at the same time. In theory, everything was simple to put together, but given the size, a lot of fidgeting was required. The linear installation process was similar to many other coolers for AMD CPUs, as you simply install the mounting bracket onto the stock backplate then screw the cooler into it. There is nothing unique about the installation process per se, but lining up the cooler to sit in the grooves on the bracket was where I personally found the most difficulty. At an MSRP of $100 USD at press time, this level of performance for the price is great. If you are looking for a solid CPU cooler and do not mind dealing with the size, the Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth is an excellent choice.
