Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 is a good mouse. It sets out clear aims and meets those easily. It is a palm grip mouse, and so the body is big. Although it not much bigger than a standard mouse, the asymmetrical design makes it comfortable for a palm grip. It is for gaming, and so has great hardware to appeal to the enthusiast crowd. Furthermore, as we know it can only be a gaming product if it has RGB -- a bit of sarcasm, in case you missed it -- which the Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 has in three distinct zones. There is also a myriad of lighting effects to make the Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 stand out even more. Cooler Master does not claim this mouse to be good for specific genres of games; instead they have just made a comfortable and precise gaming mouse for any genre. It lacks plenty of buttons for an MMO, but the TactiX function allows for more combinations, even though it is a little clunky to have to press a button before being able to access those extra features. Otherwise, the build quality is good; the plastic does not feel cheap except for the plastic of the side buttons. The matte finish throughout the body of the mouse ensures a nice grip, while the rubber on the side is nice and comfortable for the thumb and little finger. The weight is heavy, but great for a palm grip. The Omron switches provide excellent feedback, but the side buttons do not. As for the performance, I experienced smooth and accurate tracking throughout all the tests. There was some slight jitter at very high DPI, but it is not something most people venture into. The Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 comes in at $50 USD, which is a good price. Cooler Master sacrificed in the right places such as the cable, which ultimately does not affect the performance of the mouse. All in all, the Cooler Master MasterMouse MM530 is an excellent choice for someone with a moderate budget.
