About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

Unfortunately, HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs in particular, so I just took a screenshot of the program. The Corsair MP600 Elite 2TB's throughput remained very flat on average. While HD Tune is more of a drag race than a clear indication of real-life performance, it is an excellent storage performance reference among SSDs with the same controller. The results were good across the range and the recorded access time was low, as we would expect from a solid state drive.

The MP600 Elite 2TB posted an average of 2297.8MB/s for its sequential read speed, which is about as expected compared to other mainstream PCIe 4.0-based drives. The Crucial T500 2TB posted 2048.7MB/s, and the P5 Plus 2TB came in at 1677.6MB/s. However, it was measurable slower than the MP600 Core XT 2TB at 2750.3MB/s and Crucial P3 Plus 4TB at 2854.9MB/s. At the end of the day, HD Tune may not be the best test for solid state drives all the time, but these results are always interesting to look at.
