Creative Outlier Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

How does the Creative Outlier Pro compare to its predecessors after all these years? To cut to the chase, I can confidently say the Outlier Pro has kept many positives from both the Outlier Air V2 and the original Outlier Air, while improving on both. Starting externally, the Outlier Pro is solidly built. The earbuds look very nice with a clean exterior. The hard plastic on the earbuds is strong and durable. The metal carrying case supports Qi wireless charging and is smooth, sleek, and feels nice to handle, especially when being opened or closed. The IPX5 rating, good battery life, and touch controls are further examples of the Outlier Pro keeping the best attributes from its predecessors. Furthermore, we also have the introduction of active noise cancellation, which is a nice quality of life feature to have for earbuds or headphones these days when wanting more silence during usage. The hybrid active noise cancellation mode proved effective, canceling most outside noises. The ambient mode feature is a nice inverse mode for being able to hear your surroundings as well. The tested 17-hour battery life at 50% volume with ANC off also exceeded the rated battery life of 15 hours and is impressive in its own right. The sound quality is an improvement over the Outlier Air V2, although it also comes in with an overall V-shaped sound signature, which may not appeal to everybody. The Outlier Pro earphones still have the same bulkiness as its predecessors, which is to say they protrude out quite a bit. They still fit well in my ears, so this is a minor criticism. Like its predecessors, I still wish the pairing process could be more intuitive, including being able to report the battery of both earbuds. At retail price of $50, the Creative Outlier Pro is a very reasonably priced pair of earphones with great battery life, comfortable touch controls, and good sound quality.
