About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

Unfortunately, HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs in particular, so I just took a screenshot of the program. The Crucial P3 Plus 4TB's throughput remained very flat on average. While HD Tune is more of a drag race than a clear indication of real-life performance, it is an excellent storage performance reference among SSDs with the same controller. The results were good across the range and the recorded access time was low, as we would expect from a solid state drive.

The P3 Plus 4TB posted an average of 2854.9MB/s for its sequential read speed, which is really good and comparable to other performance PCIe 4.0-based drives like the Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB at 2811.8MB/s. Relative to other budget models, the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB delivered 2888.0MB/s, Crucial P5 Plus 1TB came in at 2018.0MB/s, WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD 1TB scored 1317.5MB/s, and the XPG Atom 50 1TB posted an average of 2654.3MB/s. At the end of the day, HD Tune may not be the best test for solid state drives all the time, but these results are always interesting to look at.
