We resorted to 3DMark06 Professional as part of our benchmarks, rather than 3DMark Vantage, because we wanted our system to rely a little more on the CPU and RAM rather than the graphics subsystem. That's not to mention that while our Lenovo T400 used for benchmarking is equipped with dedicated graphics, the Radeon HD 3470 is more suited to be benchmarked with 3DMark06 rather than 3DMark Vantage. In our recorded results, we can see that the overall 3DMark score increased compared to the Qimonda based 2x1GB RAM setup. Tracing through the subscores showed that the SM2.0 and SM3.0/HDR results are negligible between the two. However, the CPU section had a significant gain of +52.2% in favor of the G.SKILL RAM -- that brought the 3DMark score up 5.7%.
