Kingston HyperX Skyn Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Inclusively, both the Skyn Speed and Skyn Control has really impressed me with its functionality, and also the performance it offers. Truthfully speaking, the claim of two mousepads for the price of one does not really stand, because it offers much more beyond that. Aesthetically, it is ultra-thin, with an all-black plastic surface with its HyperX logo, surface type, and picture printed in grey for clear contrast. At an optimal size of 355mm x 255mm, the two types offers reliable and practical mousing surfaces that can suit people of different tastes or needs. In terms of the four metrics of performance tests used, we could clearly see it provides the functions of a basic mousepad, with bonuses such as the adhesive backing that holds onto the user’s desk and stays with movements. It also provides precise control under the mouse with its specially designed Control surface. The Skyn Speed offers a new level of performance in glide that is sure to improve the user’s daily mousing experience. Something I would like to see perhaps in the near future would be a hybrid of the two surfaces -- whether they would put the two surfaces on the front and back or if they would innovate it into one mousepad. This would allow users to be able to experience the speed along with a performance based control of their movements. In addition, not everyone will appreciate its semi-permanent installation, even if the grip is phenomenal. With a two year guaranteed warranty, Kingston is not afraid of standing firm behind their products. For a MSRP of $9.99 USD for either the Speed of the Control at press time and $19.99 USD for both, if you are looking for something that offers a new type of mousepad performance, then the Skyn is for you.
