Since our SSD review benchmark results are presented in alphabetical order, first up on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer. Just to note, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer is a full synthetic benchmark. Unlike full synthetic motor oil, this usually does not carry a good connotation, but it does provide valuable insight into performance between different drives and different controllers. As you can see in our graphs above, the Barefoot 3 based OCZ Vertex 450 is consistently among the top, just like the OCZ Vector. Delivering linear read results of 526.1MB/s, random read of 586.4MB/s, and buffered read of 493.1MB/s, this is a very familiar performance signature. Its average access time of 0.04ms is also the best we have tested so far here at APH Networks; with the other one getting the same mark none other than its bigger brother.
