About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is one of my favorite benchmarks for quite a while. Ever since we have started using it in my network attached storage reviews a few years ago, it has been integral to our battery of storage performance evaluations here at APH Networks -- mainly due to its accuracy, and thorough testing in accordance to varying transfer sizes. As you can see in our graphs above, the Patriot Supersonic Magnum 2 256GB has a very interesting performance curve. In the Write section, it was pretty average at 32K and under, but once it hit 64K, a VTEC just kicked in yo! moment happened, going a measly from 10.192MB/s to a whopping 115.395MB/s. There were a few dips down to the 80MB/s range after, but it peaked at an impressive 143.953MB/s, with most data points sustained in the 130MB/s range. This was about 150% to 200% the performance of the original Supersonic Magnum, and a four-fold increase compared to the Supersonic Rage 2 of the same capacity. In the Read section, the ramp up was much more normal. The Supersonic Magnum 2 completely outperformed its predecessor; peaking at 275.036MB/s, but trailed the Supersonic Rage 2 at 337.751MB/s.
