Since our SSD review benchmark results are presented in alphabetical order, first up on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer. Just to note, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer is a full synthetic benchmark. Unlike full synthetic motor oil, this usually does not carry a good connotation, but it does provide valuable insight into performance between different drives and different controllers. As you can see in our graphs above, the Marvell based SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB is definitely among the best. Delivering linear read results of about 527MB/s, random read of 547MB/s, and buffered read of 520.7MB/s, it is every bit competitive against the fastest SandForce drives. Its low average access time of 0.05ms is only beaten by the flagship OCZ Vector. Things are looking great so far!
