Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

After another experience with a new company, I have to say the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC works really well for its purpose. As a headset meant for traveling purposes, this pair of headphones has a lot of features to like. For one, the active noise cancellation really works well in blocking out external noises, while the rest of the headset and its design keeps noise in. Wireless functionality is excellent in both range and endurance, as we were able to get quite a few days of use before needing to recharge the HD 4.50 BTNC. When it comes to sound quality, we also have a pretty positive result, with the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC doing well in many areas. It reproduces music with good detail and clarity. The deep rounded bass and bright trebles are a nice touch. It does lack in soundstaging, especially with the active noise cancellation enabled, but this is not too surprising here. If there were some things I would work on other than the soundstaging, it would be to look at the build and comfort. I think some users would prefer more durable materials like metal used in the construction of their headphones even if it makes it heavier. I also would like to see the included earcups be better in breathability and plushness, though this may affect the noise isolation. Finally, as this is a traveling headset, I think it would be nice to see a hard-shell case included with these headphones just to protect them when they are not being used. With all this in mind, I am quite pleased with the final result we have here. The Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC retail for approximately $200 USD. Considering it comes with a more than capable active noise cancellation and an overall pleasant sound signature, I think Sennheiser has done a pretty good job here, and I can only hope there are more to come.
