The SilverStone VIDA 240 SLIM is a cooler that holds to what it claims. Starting with the packaging, I found it to be done very well and user-friendly. The installation process was standard with a good mix of compatible modern CPUs. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the unique design elements, such as having the pump placed within the radiator. When it comes to form factor, as its name implies, SilverStone made an effort to make a slimmer AIO cooler. They did not fail in this mission as the use of slim fans and a slim radiator made for an AIO cooler that could fit even in some of the tightest spaces while still having ARGB LEDs. SilverStone even includes a RGB controller out of the box. Cooling performance was another claim the SilverStone made. The idle test provided a glimpse of the VIDA 240 SLIM’s capabilities, almost matching the monstrous performance of the SilverStone IceGem 280 in my test setup. Under load, the VIDA 240 SLIM managed to hold its own with very reasonable numbers. The noise levels were quite reasonable given the dual fans and rated airflow. While idle, you could tell the fans were running, but it was barely noticeable. During load, it was more audible, but nothing to be shocked about as it was comparable to the competition. The only thing I would like to see is a nickel plated copper base. At a price of about $135 USD at press time, this level of performance, features, and slim form factor does come at a price. The VIDA 240 SLIM has its place in the AIO cooling category and will quite literally fit the needs of tighter computer builds. Given all this, if you have a system that is built into a tighter case, the SilverStone VIDA 240 SLIM is going to fit your needs.
