Google TV Adds Personalized Profiles

From PC Mag: Google TV is finally catching on to what most streaming services have known for years: each person in a household has different tastes in entertainment.

The video-on-demand platform this week introduced a handful of new features to help personalize individual viewing experiences—starting with Google TV profiles.

It's now possible to create a unique space (using existing app login details) where you'll get show and movie recommendations, access to a personal watchlist, and help from Google Assistant. The more you watch, the more specific your account becomes, learning your interests and preferences to help uncover similar programming.

For the little ones, a kids profile can be created. This feature was introduced in March to help children access age-appropriate videos without overwhelming their adults' page with content like Doc McStuffins and Captain Underpants.
