From PC Mag: If you’re a priority member of Nvidia’s GeForce Now, don’t expect every title to run at 60 frames per second (fps) as the company previously advertised.
Nvidia's cloud gaming service is restricting frames per second on at least 12 games from between 55fps to 45fps, according to a support document it published on Thursday. The games include Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which have both been capped to 45fps. Two other titles released in the past year, Biomutant and Outriders, will only run at 50 and 55fps, respectively.
The company is placing the frames-per-second restrictions to ensure each title runs smoothly over GeForce Now, which streams games from an Nvidia data center to the user’s PC, TV, or smartphone.
“For our Priority Members, the maximum frames rendered per second is generally set to 60, or higher, for most of the 1,100+ games we’ve onboarded so far. [But] there are some exceptions that we determined do not run well enough at 60fps on the GPUs used by Priority members,” the company wrote.
