From PC Mag: Despite, or possibly in response to, supply chain shortages, Motorola has proven to be an incredibly nimble manufacturer over the past year, and it shows no signs of slowing down. This morning, it announced its latest budget phone, the 2022 Moto G Power.
For those keeping count, this is Motorola’s sixth G-series phone announced this year and the second G Power model to make its debut in 2021. To avoid confusion, we’re just going to call the phone the Moto G Power 2022, since you won’t be able to buy it this year anyhow.
The G Power has a textured plastic backplate and is available in dark green. A narrow camera module sits in the upper-left corner with a 50MP primary lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. A fingerprint sensor is hidden behind the Motorola logo.
The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.5-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. Display resolution comes in at 1,600-by-720 pixels, with 269ppi. There’s a small hole punch for the 8MP selfie camera.
A MediaTek Helio G37 chipset and 4GB of RAM power the Moto G Power. The base model comes with 64GB of flash storage, but there’s also a 128GB version available for an extra $50. If you need more room, the phone supports up to 512GB of external storage with a microSD card.
