From PC Mag: Step aside, Santa: Google is doling out the gifts this holiday season. Whether you're staying busy through the month or planning plenty of self-care time, a slew of Android feature updates aim to help ease in the new year.
New features across the mobile OS make it "a joy to create, capture, relive, and share holiday memories" according to Google Assistant interaction designer Tiffany Yang, while also strengthening security and adding personalization options to Android.
Family Bell aims to keep your entire family on track by syncing daily schedules. It can be setup on your phone, home speaker, or smart display to remind everyone of important moments throughout the day, like watering the tree or attending family movie night. Folks can also set bells on their own devices to stay on top of individual goals.
Not everyone wants to remember the last two years, but Google Photos' new Memories can help illuminate the brighter spots. Look for a curated selection of images and videos from past holidays like New Year's Eve and Halloween, or important milestones like birthdays and graduations. Users can even rename, personalize, correct, or remove particular Memories from their grid.
