From PC Mag: Just in time for last-minute gifts and holiday guests to arrive, Comcast launched a new video doorbell for Xfinity Home customers to keep an eye on their front door.
Powered by Xfinity Internet, the buzzer's motion notifications and 24/7 recording makes it easy to watch for deliveries, disarm porch pirates, and prepare for the in-laws.
At the digital knell, customers receive a notification on their smartphone and, if available, their TV—through Comcast's X1 or Flex streaming services. Open the mobile app to see a head-to-toe view of your visitor and access two-way radio. There's also an option to set specific areas of interest, so you receive motion notifications only when someone is at the front door, driveway, or porch. Comcast even integrated its xFi Advanced Security suite to protect your home from digital threats.
Like competitors Ring or Nest, Xfinity's offering boasts an HD camera with 4:30 aspect ratio and an intercom, making it easy to greet visitors without leaving the couch or tell the delivery driver where to leave a parcel.
