From PC Mag: Apple is set to release a new iMac featuring an M3 chip, likely in the second half of 2023, Bloomberg reports.
The latest iMac will stay with the 24-inch screen size as the current model, and is expected to be one of the company’s first machines with an M3 chip, says Bloomberg’s in-house Apple tracker Mark Gurman. Though development is running at an advanced stage, it’s not likely that the computer will enter mass production for at least another three months, he adds.
In his assessment of the likelihood of the M3 chip being incorporated into the iMac, Gurman points out that Apple revealed the M2 chip at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2022. This, he says, means it makes sense for an M3 chip to be released “alongside the new MacBook Air” at this year’s WWDC before eventually appearing in the upcoming iMac later this year and M3 Pro and M3 Max-based MacBook Pros “in 2024.”
The new iMac is believed to come in the same colors as its 2021 predecessor, including blue, silver, pink, and orange.
