SilverStone SETA H2 Review

For the Father’s Day that just passed, I decided I would make my dad a cake. When I was little, we always got the same Black Forest cake for him for his birthday, so I assumed it was something he liked. As you may or may not know, the traditional Black Forest has multiple layers of cake with cherries and cream in between. One thing I learned in making it was how important it was to soak the cakes with a cherry syrup to ensure a soft and supple cake. As such, I brushed each layer with thickened cherry juice before topping it with whipped cream and cherries. The other thing the recipe mentioned was to let the cake sit fully assembled overnight to ensure a good cake texture. I finished the assembly of the cake in about three hours before letting it sit in the fridge. The next day, I learned to make chocolate rolls and shavings to top the cake off. Overall, it was fun to make, but even more enjoyable to eat. There were areas I could improve upon, but my favorite thing was the moist cake inside. While cakes should be good looking, the details inside need to be present to ensure the cake is equally satisfying to eat. Similarly, most computer cases nowadays are impressive from the exterior. With wraparound tempered glass and RGB LED lighting, this seems to make up majority of the enclosures we see. Today, we have the SilverStone SETA H2, which bucks this trend. With a fully steel, all-black exterior, this computer chassis does not seem to be the most eye-catching from its outer appearance. However, will the interior design make the SETA H2 a compelling option in 2025? Let us read on to find out!

Today's review unit of the SilverStone SETA H2 arrived from SilverStone's offices in Chino, California. Traveling with FedEx and their International Ground service, this box arrived in excellent condition with no significant issues to speak of. In addition to the SETA H2, SilverStone also sent us their SETA A2 in a separate box for me to review in the coming weeks. As this is a large box, the retail container doubled as the shipping container. You can see the box is also plain looking with black printing around the side panels. From this side, you can see an outline of the SETA H2 inside from a front view, along with the product name beside it. Underneath, we have a tagline of "Highly Versatile, High Cooling Capacity Gaming/Workstation Chassis". A SilverStone logo is printed on the top left corner of this side.

Before we continue, I have grabbed the specifications from the manufacturer's website for your viewing pleasure:

Out of the box, the SilverStone SETA H2 is packaged in a transparent plastic bag and sandwiched between two large pieces of foam. These white pieces do not easily break apart and ensures even if there is impact taken by the box, the SETA H2 is not affected by the impact. It also creates space between the product and the exterior box, which further increases protection. I do appreciate this is not polystyrene, which often can break apart in transit. The rest of the accessories are contained within a plastic bag that is attached inside the SETA H2. There is also a small pamphlet that covers the one-year warranty included with most SilverStone cases. It is a bit short in duration, but this has been the standard for SilverStone for a while.
