From Forbes: Not only is Apple planning a refresh of the MacBook Air, it is also preparing to bring OLED display technology to the popular macOS-powered laptop. But what of the MacBook Pro? Given the professional nature of the 14-inch and 16-inch macOS laptops, will the advanced display technology come to these models?
The good news is that, yes, the larger and more powerful MacBook Pros will pick up OLED displays… but it’s going to take some time. Display Supply Chain Consultants’ Ross Young has been following the party of the OLED display to Apple hardware, and the MacBook Pro version is slated to appear no earlier than 2026:
The displays will come from Samsung Display, and the South Korean company is clear that it is making a significant investment in OLED production, to the tune of $3.1 billion. As part of that, it has stated the facilities will be used to manufacture the displays for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
