From PC Mag: Motorola's Edge+ is its new affordable flagship smartphone, and at $799.99, it goes head-to-head with the likes of the Google Pixel 7 Pro and OnePlus 11 5G with features like a horizon lock stability feature for capturing smooth, fast-action videos via its main camera.
The company also showed off two new budget-friendly smartphones, the Moto G 5G at $249.99 and Moto G Stylus at $199.99, both of which replace last year's models.
Motorola is taking it to the edge—again! The Edge+, much like last year's device, is a high-end smartphone that undercuts pricier models. It starts with a big 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,400-by-1,080 pixels and a pixel density of 394ppi, the same as the previous model. The screen receives a slight speed upgrade, sporting a 165Hz refresh rate compared to last year's 144Hz. Many competing flagships stick with refresh rates of 120Hz.
The processor has been bumped to the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a sensible move from the Gen 1 found in the previous version. Buyers will get just 8GB of RAM. Last year's phone had an optional 12GB upgrade, but Motorola has streamlined its choices this year. The phone will ship with either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
