From PC Mag: While Bluesky has gotten a lot of attention since the US elections, its biggest rival, Threads, has actually surged much further ahead.
In the past two weeks, the Meta-owned platform has gained 15 million new users, Threads and Instagram boss Adam Mosseri shared.
"Huge couple of weeks for Threads. More than 15 million signups in November alone, and going on three months with more than a million signups a day. Know we have a lot more work to do, and our teams are working hard to get this community what they need," Mosseri wrote in a post.
AppFigures data largely confirms these numbers, reporting over 4.8 million iOS Threads app downloads and over 8.2 million Threads for Android downloads in the past two weeks. This adds up to over 13 million users, but doesn't include those who have signed up on the web via a desktop browser. Users in the US, Brazil, and India have downloaded Threads more than other countries in the past two weeks.
