From PC Mag: Controlling what your child plays on their game console is set to get easier if you own a PlayStation 5 or PS4. A new PlayStation Family app for smartphones is set to take over the hard work of keeping an eye on your child’s playtime.
The new app for Android and iPhone is designed for parents who want to set up parental control features, such as time limits, and police those rules remotely. It means you can keep an eye on what your child is playing and for how long, or stretch previously set limits from afar.
PlayStation’s app will notify you if a child is looking for extra playtime beyond previously set limits or if they’re trying to activate titles that aren't appropriate for them. You can then allow or deny requests from your phone.
The app also gives you both daily and weekly activity reports of your kid’s experience with their console. It’ll tell you how much they’ve played, what they’ve played, and more.
