From PC Mag: One of Ring’s biggest smart home limitations has been the lower resolution of its battery-powered doorbells, but that’s no longer the case with a refreshed Battery Doorbell Pro. The new top-end Ring offers better video clarity with a 4K camera, and it doesn't require a hardwired connection to your home.
Officially called the Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen), Ring says it's the company's most powerful battery-powered product yet, with up to 10x enhanced zoom and better security features. It costs $249.99, up from the last-gen price of $229.99.
If you don’t need top-end resolution, Ring has also introduced three new doorbells with a 2K camera. All three new products feature up to 6x enhanced zoom and standard features like Motion Detection and Color Night Vision.
The top-end model is the $179.99 Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen), which features a Quick Release Battery Pack for easier recharging. There's also a new Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen) model without the quick-change features that costs $99.99.
