From PC Mag: The wait for Apple's smart glasses may be longer than expected due to privacy concerns. Apple has decided to push its reveal from late 2026 to WWDC 2027, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports.
Codenamed N50 internally, Apple’s first smart glasses are expected to provide hands-free access to Siri, play music, make phone calls, and also have AI-powered camera features that allow wearers to get more information about their surroundings.
Whether the camera can capture photos and videos is still being debated within Apple, and company executives are taking time to refine Apple's privacy messaging, Gurman says.
Privacy has been one of the biggest hurdles for smart glasses, with concerns that wearers could record people without their knowledge or consent. Meta’s glasses have always had a capture light to indicate when they're recording, but users have found ways to hide or remove it.
