In a world where every component of a computer seems to be drenched in RGB LED lighting, it is refreshing to find products that take a different approach. LEDs have become a standard feature for almost every fan, cooler, or even power supply, often adding unnecessary glare to otherwise sleek systems. Do not get me wrong, there is a place for vibrant gaming rigs that light up a room, and I understand the appeal of making your setup look like a futuristic control center. However, it feels like we have lost the art of understated elegance, where form meets function without the distraction of a rainbow of lights. There is something timeless about a clean, quiet, and efficient build that focuses purely on performance and utility without all the spectacle. That is why it is a relief to come across cooling fans like the Corsair RS120 MAX and RS140 MAX, which ditch the bling in favor of solid, dependable cooling performance. They are all about function over flash, and that is exactly what I appreciate. No unnecessary distractions, the fans are just here to provide efficient airflow and reliable operation. It is a testament to the idea that good design does not need to shout to be heard. But does this minimalist approach translate to real quality and efficiency? Are the Corsair RS120 MAX and RS140 MAX cooling fans good products for ones who do not want to pay for lighting effects? Let us read on and find out!
The Corsair RS120 MAX and RS140 MAX fans that arrived for our review were delivered in two medium-sized brown corrugated cardboard boxes from a distribution center in San Bernardino, California, USA, not far from the company's US headquarters in Fremont. The boxes showed no clear signs of damage upon its arrival here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada via UPS Saver.

Corsair's logo is positioned at the top, while the model name is displayed on the bottom left. The number of fans included in the package is clearly indicated at the bottom right corner. The remaining sides of the box provide additional highlights and specifications of the product.
