Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB Review

"Hey, are you that guy?" A friend of a friend asked me recently while we were playing foosball on my Tornado foosball table in my basement. "What do you mean?" I asked. "There is some rumor going around [the University of Calgary engineering department] saying if anyone comes up to you for a foosball game, do not play them. They pretend to be new, but will absolutely destroy you at the game," she replied. It is fair people get to know me through different means, just like how we experience brands through different products. I just find it funny how that reputation precedes me for her, as most students know me as their class professor rather than foosball. When it comes to Corsair, they have really expanded their product line in the last couple of decades, selling anything from coolers to power supplies to gaming peripherals, which we have covered all extensively here at APH Networks. In fact, according to our Company Links page, we have covered forty-one products from them at the time of writing this review, excluding this review itself. But if you look back at history, Corsair is traditionally a RAM company, and shockingly, we have never reviewed any RAM from them, even though we have been benchmarking PC memory from basically all their competitors since 2006. Well, all this is about to change today, my friends. We got the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB in our labs, so let us open the box to see what the company has to offer in 2025.

Our review unit of the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB arrived in a small brown corrugated cardboard box from FedEx's supply chain management system in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Using the FedEx Express service, everything arrived in excellent condition to us here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for our review today.

The retail packaging of the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB is immediately recognizable to anyone who has seen products from the company in the last little while. The predominantly yellow and black color scheme is contrasted by the white text on the darker shades and black text on the lighter shades. A photo shot from the three-quarter view of the RAM occupies the majority of the real estate in front. At the top, you will find Corsair's logo. The model name and description of the memory is printed on the right, while its speed and capacity are below. Feature highlights can be seen on the left side of the box. Further information in various languages can be found on the back of the box.

A screenshot of the memory tab in CPU-Z with Corsair's Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB installed. The SPD timings table in CPU-Z reads standard JEDEC specifications programmed into the memory as well as XMP data for running the memory at various speeds. Our ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi motherboard used for testing had no issues detecting and working with the Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 RAM right out of the box using the latest BIOS revision. The Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-8400 2x24GB retails for approximately $350 at press time.
