Microsoft's Surface 2 Tablet Family Gets a $100 Price Cut

From DailyTech: The Surface Pro 3 may be the latest and greatest tablet from Microsoft — and one that the boys from Redmond are pitching hard against the Apple MacBook Air family — but the company still has another line of tablets that are aimed at more price-conscious buyers. The Surface 2 family was first announced in September 2013 and is now getting an official $100 price cut.

WinBeta reports that all models of the Surface 2 are receiving the $100 price reduction, including the LTE model that was launched back in March. That means that pricing stacks up as follows:

- 32GB Surface 2: $349
- 64GB Surface 2: $449
- 64GB Surface 2 LTE: $579

Unlike its more expensive Surface Pro 3 brother, the Surface 2 features an ARM processor and runs the more limited Windows RT instead of Windows 8.1. And instead of the 12” 2160x1440 resolution display found on the Surface Pro 3, the Surface 2 makes do with a 10.6” 1080p display.
