Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 Hit U.S. Unlocked for $330/$410, A7 Specs Leak

From DailyTech: One of the major pitfalls of Samsung Electronics Comp., Ltd.'s (KRX:005930) (KRX:005935) "Galaxy Alpha" aluminum body smartphone was the decision to make it an AT&T Inc. (T) exclusive in the U.S. and price it at a relatively steep entry fee ($599 USD).

Samsung appears to have learned from that mistake. With the Alpha killed off this week and with Samsung focusing on the A Series (which like the Alpha features a premium metal body and a mid-range spec) we expected to get some word soon on the pricing and availability of the Galaxy A3 and A5 in the U.S.

It looks like we now have that, courtesy of Samsung's sales partner. Samsung has partnered up with Expansys plc, an international firm that recently was delisted and acquired via a group of investors led by Dragon's Den investor Peter Jones. The leadership change appears to have benefited Expansys that's positioning itself as a top sales partner in the premium direct sales space in the U.S., selling consumers smartphones which come SIM-free and unlocked.

Expansys is offering the Galaxy A3 for $329.99 USD unlocked, and the Galaxy A5 for $409.99 USD unlocked. Both devices feature dual-SIM support and LTE connectivity.
