LG G Flex 2 Packs Snapdragon 810, Hits Preorder for ~$699 in Europe

From DailyTech: LG Electronics, Inc. (KRX:066570)(KRX:066575) will test the waters this winter with the upcoming launch of the LG G Flex 2. The smartphone's predecessor drew mixed reviews, with some drawn to the unique concept of a durable, flexible phone, and others less than impressed. The sequel, announced at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), should have an easier time justifying its existence as it can now sell itself not only on its unique bent/bendable form factor, but also on its impeccable hardware.

As promised the LG G Flex 2 is one of the first devices to pack a Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM). Combined with its just-right 1080p resolution (which doesn't suffer the well-documented battery life issues of quad-HD (QHD)) and otherwise well, rounded spec, the G Flex 2 should be a hit.

Now we finally have a price for the device (unlocked) -- roughly $699 USD (€599 EUR in the EU). The price comes courtesy of an Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) posting in Germany. The listed price is impressive as it's substantially less than the whopping $999 USD (€849 EUR in the EU) the original LG G Flex commanded at launch. Considering the improved hardware LG Electronics is clearly making buyers an offer many won't be able to refuse.

The only thing we don't know about the device is the launch date. But it's expected to be out before the end of February, at the latest. It looks like LG fans won't have to stress out about waiting for the next flagship LG G Series device, as they have a solid alternative to explore in the meantime.
