Apple replaces defective MacBook cables

From InfoWorld: Apple has launched a cable replacement plan for defective USB-C cables bundled with its pricey Retina MacBook.

The affected cables were included with the MacBook until June 2015, Apple said. The ultra-slim notebook -- which costs between $1,300 and $1,600 -- went on sale in April of that year.

"Your MacBook may not charge or only charge intermittently when it's connected to a power adapter with an affected cable," an Apple support document stated.

9to5Mac.com first reported on the cable replacement program Friday.
