From PC Mag: Sony's PlayStation Vue video-streaming service is getting a few notable upgrades, including out-of-home local broadcast stations and mobile sign-ups.
"If you are traveling out of town with your PS Vue-supported device, you can watch the local broadcast channels that are available in the city you are in," Sony VP and Head of PS Vue Dwayne Benefield wrote in a blog post. "It's a great way to catch up on local news and weather when you're on the road."
So, if you're visiting New York City, for instance, you'll be able to access the local channels there while PS Vue continues to record all the shows you want from your local channels back at home. Besides that, you'll now be able to watch your home sports channels when visiting another city.
"That way, you can still watch your favorite home team, even if you are in a rival city!" Benefield wrote.
Finally, new PS Vue users will be able to sign up and start watching PS Vue right from PSVue.com on a mobile phone, tablet, or PC—no TV necessary.
