World of Warcraft Classic Demo Available at BlizzCon 2018

From PC Mag: If you're a lapsed World of Warcraft player who misses the "old days" and the classic 2004 online experience, get ready to start playing again. World of Warcraft Classic launches in demo form this November.

World of Warcraft is the most successful massively-multiplayer online game ever released and has earned Blizzard billions, but not all players are happy with the direction the game has taken in recent years. Many called for the original game to return and even set about running their own servers to recreate it. Blizzard didn't like that, but such actions have resulted in World of Warcraft Classic being made.

Blizzard announced the Classic version of its MMO at BlizzCon 2017 with the promise of a "base game" experience without all the additional expansion packs and changes they introduced. Now a demo of the Classic game will be released at BlizzCon 2018 on Nov. 2, but you don't need to attend to gain access to it.

All attendees will of course get the demo, but those of us staying at home can instead purchase a BlizzCon 2018 Virtual Ticket. It costs $50, but as well as the WoW Classic demo you'll gain access to every panel and stage at the event streamed live. There's also a video series taking you behind the scenes at Blizzard, an archive library from BlizzCon 2017, and in-game rewards for Overwatch, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Diablo III, Heroes of the Storm, and Hearthstone. Blizzard also includes a $10 discount for the 2018 Goody Bag which promises to include, "a collection of commemorative gear to mark the occasion."
