Leaked pictures of Galaxy A9 reveal Samsung really did stick four cameras on the back

From The Verge: Remember when Huawei and LG put three cameras on the back of their phones? How young and foolish we all were, not knowing that wonders like Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A9 — with its four total cameras — would soon come into our lives.

Rumors have been circling that Samsung will release the A9 with four rear lenses for a while, but today marks the first time that we’ve actually seen renders of the impressive array, courtesy of Evan Blass.

As Blass’ photo shows, the A9 will feature four lenses: an 8-megapixel, 120-degree wide angle lens; a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom; a 24-megapixel main lens; and a 5-megapixel “depth camera.”

Other leaks have indicated that the A9 will also feature a 6.38-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, and a 3,720mAh battery, which are all perfectly fine, midrange specs for a midrange Android device.

Samsung is obviously hoping that the quad camera is going to be the big draw here, but we’ll find out for sure when it officially announces the A9, which may be as early as October 11th.
