From DailyTech: Sanyo today released new, upgraded versions of the "eneloop" rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, with a promise of even more recharge times. The new eneloop batteries can be recharged up to 1,500 times according to Sanyo utilizing new material, structure, and manufacturing methods. The new findings were in thanks due to "the knowledge gained since the first release of eneloop in November 2005, the number of times a battery can be recharged has been increased by 1.5 times to approximately 1,500 times compared to conventional methods, which make the total number of times it is able to be recharged the industry No. 1," according to Sanyo. Specifically, Sanyo utilized "highly-durable super-lattice alloy" to help upgrade its eneloop rechargeable batteries. Unlike other rechargeable batteries, the charged eneloop batteries do not have a "self-discharge" feature which drains battery life slowly over time. No self-discharge ability means Sanyo's batteries are ready to use immediately after purchase, with no need to charge the batteries. View: Article @ Source Site |
