From X-bit Labs: Intel Corp. on Wednesday said that the unofficial information about private talks between Paul Otellini, chief executive of Intel, and makers of graphics cards in regards of the forthcoming Larrabee graphics processing unit (GPU). “The story is completely untrue. All of it is made up,” said Nick Knupffer, a spokesman for Intel. Apparently, Paul Otellini has not met with manufacturers of graphics cards to promote Larrabee graphics processors and discuss possible pricing schemes, as it was reported by a Taiwan-based web-site on Tuesday. Earlier this year Mr. Otellini himself said that he “would expect volume introduction” of Larrabee “early next year”, which could mean both January and March. It is rather surprising that now Intel denies negotiations with third-parties regarding manufacturing of actual graphics cards that are supposed to be out early next year. Mr. Knupffer stressed that there was “no change” in the Larrabee roadmap and that the product is still scheduled to arrive early in 2010. View: Article @ Source Site |
