Dell Returns Adamo XPS to Own Stores

From X-bit Labs: Dell said this week that it had returned the high-end Adamo XPS laptop to its own online store in the U.S. The company said that it had not discontinued the notebook, still, the offering is somewhat exclusive and limited and the company had to build up “sufficient supply”.

“Demand for the Adamo XPS has been strong both online and in retail, where customers are able to see the amazing and award-winning design in person. To avoid customer issues with longer lead times for online purchases, our intent was to point customers to key retail partners until we were able to build up sufficient supply,” said Anne Camden, a spokeswoman for Dell.

Today the Adamo XPS is available again directly from Dell at Adamobydell.com. Orders may also be placed via phone or chat sales. The starting price for the Adamo XPS is around $2000.

Dell Adamo XPS, which is as thin as 9.99mm, is based on Intel Core 2 Duo U9400 (1.40GHz) ultra low voltage processor and a core-logic set with integrated graphics core. The computer is equipped with 4GB PC3-6400 (800MHz) DDR3 memory, 128GB solid-state drive, 13.4” LED display with 720p output capability, 802.11n wireless network adapter, Bluetooth 2.1 adapter and so on. The notebook does not feature any optical drive, however, it has two USB 2.0 ports, audio output and, most importantly, replaceable battery, something that numerous computer makers sacrifice in order to make their computers even thinner.
