From PC World: Best Buy is to open its first UK retail store at West Thurrock Retail Par, Essex on Friday 30 April. According to Best Buy, the grand opening will be marked with four days of activity over the May Bank Holiday weekend with special deals, competitions, and entertainment. As well as traditional electronic equipement, customers will also be able to find electric cars, motorcyles, scooters and bicycles under a new Green Tech zone in the store. Paul Antoniadis, CEO of Best Buy Branded Operations said: "We're so delighted to be opening our first UK store and are confident that we can deliver a whole new experience in consumer electronics retailing. We look forward to welcoming our first customers to our store in Thurrock". Best Buy is looking to open up stores in Hedge End, Southampton) and Merry Hill, West Midlands in June, and Aintree, Liverpool then Croydon, Surrey in the Autumn.
