Dell introduces new all-in-one, updated Inspiron Zino living room PC

From CNET News.com: In time for the holiday shopping season, Dell's new Inspiron One 23 should charm at least a few shoppers with its friendly-looking design and an approachable $799 starting price. It also features a new touch software interface that organizes shortcuts to touch programs in a quick access, collage-style layout designed to make it easier to jump into touch-based input.

The Inspiron One 23 will appear in retail as well as on Dell's Web site where you can add the usual selection of custom options. Dell will be offering upgrades to a Blu-ray drive, an AMD quad core CPU, and hard drives up to 1TB. The standard configuration will be more of a dual-core, DVD burning set-up, but all models will have an HDMI input among its ports, a crucial feature for using your all-in-one as a one-stop, game-console-or-cable-box-connected entertainment center.

For the smaller scale Inspiron Zino HD, Dell has mostly just updated a few components from the original model that debuted at the end of 2009. You can bump up the default $299 model from a low-end AMD Neo chip all the way up to a quad core Phenom II X4. You can also bump the graphics up from integrated to an AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5450, which should handle HD video and at least some games without trouble. Dell also has a new pared down wireless keyboard option to help make the Zino HD a better living room hardware citizen. Expect to see both new systems on Dell's Web site and at retail soon.
