Apple's iPad Heading to Verizon, AT&T Stores

From DailyTech: Well, we didn't see this one coming. With all of the talk about a "done deal" for Apple's iPhone 4 on Verizon's CDMA network, it appears that were backroom discussions of a different nature going on between the two companies. Verizon announced today that it will be selling all three iPad Wi-Fi models (16GB, 32GB, and 64GB) in its retail stores starting October 28 -- all will be bundled with Verizon's MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

The 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB bundles will be priced at $629, $729, and $839 respectively. Verizon will give you an allotment of 1GB of data for $20 per month (no contract) with the MiFi hotspot which can be used with the iPad or any other Wi-Fi-capable device that you may have in your arsenal.

"This is the perfect pairing for holiday travels," said Verizon Wireless COO John Stratton. "iPad together with the nation's largest and most reliable 3G data network allows customers to easily connect on the go wherever they are."

"We're thrilled to be working with Verizon Wireless to get iPad into the hands of even more customers this holiday season," added Steve Jobs' right hand man, Tim Cook. "iPad allows users to connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before, and together with Verizon Wireless we're offering an easy way to stay connected wherever you go."

So we now know that Apple is willing to work together with Verizon, if only it's for a bundled iPad arrangement and not with network-specific hardware. However, the partnership gives a bit more credibility to the reports that the iPhone 4 will be heading to Verizon early next year.
