Corsair 90GB and 180GB Force Series SSDs Launch

From DailyTech: Corsair has pulled the wraps off a pair of new SSDs today in the new Force Series. The new SSDs are offered in 90GB and 180GB capacities and promise class leading performance. The 90GB SSD is the F90 and the 180GB offering is called the F180.

The new SSDs use the Sandforce SF-1200 SSD processor. The storage devices promise read speed of up to 285MB/s and a write speed of up to 275MB/s. The random 4K write performance is claimed to be 50,000 IOPs, which is on par with enterprise grade SSDs.

"Corsair’s Force Series of SSDs have become extremely popular with enthusiasts and gamers, and with these two new capacities we can offer our customers greater flexibility to choose the capacity that best suits their budget,” stated Thi La, VP of Memory Products at Corsair. "The 90GB and 180GB capacities neatly fill the gaps in the current family, which now ranges from 40GB all the way to 240GB."

The SSDs support TRIM command with Windows 7 to help maintain performance over the life of the drive. Both of the new SSDs are available right now with the F90 selling for $189.99 and the F180 going for $399.99.
