AMD Shows Off Radeon HD 6990 Dual-GPU Graphics Card

From X-bit Labs: Advanced Micro Devices has demonstrated the graphics card that is expected to be most powerful on the planter. Based on two leading-edge code-named Cayman graphics processing units (GPUs), the novelty is supposed to enable exceptional performance in modern games at high resolutions.

Rick Bergman, the head of product group at AMD, showed off the graphics card that is expected to replace the ATI Radeon HD 5970. The novelty is projected to offer higher performance than the previous-generation product and improve speed in demanding video games.

The card itself does not look extraordinary: it definitely is large, but it seems that it can fit into majority of computer cases utilized by performance enthusiasts.

AMD's Radeon HD 6990 is expected to be based on two Cayman GPUs.
